We are experiencing normal seasonal weather on Slovenian coast today and the working conditions on all Luka Koper terminals are back to normal again.

Container terminal already began with vessel operations yesterday in 2^nd shift, although the limit, published this Tuesday still stands true:

Container terminal is not accepting full containers for loading on vessels until further notice.

However, the weather forecast for the next days is still predicting heavy wind, reaching its peak on Friday evening. Wind will be blowing with 140 km/h throughout Friday (10.2.) and Saturday (11.2.), the bora wind will stop blowing only on Sunday (12.2.).

Dear business partners,

We would like to inform you about the decision of Port of Koper to close Container terminal for all incoming containers as from 07.02.2012, starting at 22:00 hour. Closure will be valid until further notice.

Because of severe weather conditions the vessel operations on container terminal are impossible now for more than a week. Container handling on vessels was stopped, however land operations continued without interruption. It the past week an extraordinary number of containers meant for vessel loading was accumulated on the terminal. Because of these exceptional conditions we are forced to close the terminal for incoming containers on wagons, trucks and internal handlings. This restriction is valid from today, Feb 7th 2012 starting at 10 PM until further notice. This measure is necessary if we want to assure smooth service after the normal beginning of operations.

According to the weather forecast this situation might last additional several days. We will promptly inform you about the progress and eventual other measures taken.

Previous week we successfully passed the control audit for ISO Standard 9001 / 2008, which had been conducted by the certification body, Bureau Veritas. We have got no "pinkies", but auditors gave us some useful recommendations for our further business.
